Hockley Gales Semi Final Win

Congratulations to our men's Hockley Gales team who won their semi final against Blackmoor at Petersfield Golf Club at the weekend. A fantastic 5-4 win after being 4-2 down with victories from Mark Woodward, Gary Tarling, Kevin Jeffery (winning his match from what looked like an impossible position from a green side hedge), Jason Turner (played a fine bunker shot and putted out to finish his match off) and then it came down to Gareth Thompson with both players on the final green for 2, Gareth had a slick down hill putt which finished 2ft away, his opponent missed his birdie putt which left the 25plus people focused on Gareth as he took his time lined up his putt and sunk it for a par to halve the hole but to win overall.

It was a great team effort of which club captain Paul White came to support the team on as well. The final is on the 16th September at Hockley Golf Club and we wish them the best of luck in bringing the trophy back to Weybrook Park.
