Ladies Captain's Day 2025

Ladies Captain, Shelagh Finch, chose 'Around the World in 18 Holes' for her captains day theme this year. 40 Ladies took to the course, battling the elements last weekend. Many prizes were up for grabs, including individual stableford, putting competition, and best fancy dress.

Each group also had a quiz to complete around the course, with a flag displayed at each tee box. The ladies were required to answer a question corresponding to each country's flag, 18 holes, 18 flags, 18 questions.

There were more country-related tasks on the course, such as on Hole 3, once on the green, the players had to substitute their balls and putters for the themed items supplied, and on Hole 7, Ukraine flag coloured balls, half yellow & half blue, were substituted for their own.

The afternoon was completed with a fine feast of Tagine Chicken Supreme or Zatar Cod, followed by Raspberry & Pistachio Tiramisu or Ptichye Moloko. The front of house and catering team provided another great service and meal, enjoyed by all.
Shelagh gives special thanks to Tracey, Olwen, Virge, Jenny, Karen, Sue Gale, Sue Bowen, Celia, Hazel, Helen, Bob Lycett, Bob Mitchell, Colin, and everyone else who made the day run so smoothly.
