Greenkeeper Adam Olliver leads many of our ecology initiatives across the 27-holes. There are many ways in which Adam has improved the course to make it an ideal habitat for a variety of species, including the introduction of protection areas for ground-nesting skylarks. The work saw success with several pairs of Skylark breeding on the course, helping to boost the numbers of this red-listed species. He has also made and installed a swift box, owl box, and a duck house on the course in the last few years.
He was awarded the Golf Environment Awards - Conservation Green Keeper of the Year 2022 for his hard work and was a finalist for the Conservation Champion 2024 for ongoing environmental programs.
He is also an accomplished photographer, documenting the different wildlife seen around the course. Part of his collection can be seen on our “wildlife gallery” in the clubhouse, but to see more of his portfolio and the diverse species found at Weybrook Park, please visit Adam’s Instagram page www.instagram.com/therobinswhisperer.
